Description

The POC Tectal builds upon the success of the award-winning Trabec by refining the fit and improving the level of protection. The Tectal offers deep coverage for the temples and the back of the head and incorporates an aramid fibre bridge system and unibody shell construction for extra protection and structural integrity while keeping the weight as low as possible.

Who's this item for: POC has developed the Tectal for aggressive trail riding and Enduro racing but it's totally suitable for any kind of MTB riding, apart from full-on DH.

Construction: The helmet uses reinforced EPS liner and a unibody shell construction to maximise the structural integrity while keeping the weight nice and low. An aramid fibre bridge system provides extra protection against penetration from sharp objects.

Rotational liner: The Tectal doesn't have a rotational liner so check out the Tectal Race Spin if you'd like to have that feature (see link below).

Straps: The straps are adjustable and use a standard quick-release buckle.

Retention System: POC don't have a fancy name for this and simply call it the "Size adjustment system". It's just a standard, dial-type retention system that is effective at stabilising the helmet on your head.

Ventilation: There are 15 or so nice big vents to keep the cool air coming in and the hot air going out. The rear of the helmet also has a pretty nifty sunglass storage system so you'll be able to securely stow your glasses if things get steamy or you lose your light partway through the ride.

Padding: Nothing fancy to call out here but the helmet does have some nice comfy padding inside.

Visor: The visor is adjustable so you can get it just right.

Weight:
  • XS-S: 320g
  • M-L: 350g
  • XL-XXL: 370g

Other: There is a RECCO reflector built into the helmet so rescue services should hopefully be able to find you if you send it a little too far off that jump.

Pros: Stylish, light, and well-ventilated helmet.

Cons: No rotational liner. See the Tectal Race Spin if you want that feature.

    Covered me perfect

I love it! Fits perfect and covers where it needs covering. Did a slide off my bike last week and the helmet took the hit on the side. Better it then my ears. Knees and elbows had skin layers take off but head was good.

POC - Go to Gear for any serious Mountain Biker..

Love POC gear, the Tectal is a staple in the line up. I have a number of helmets and I keep going back to the Tectal. The style, features, functions, fit and comfort are second to none. I was lucky enough to get it in the Fabio Edition which looks fantastic. Highly recommended..
