OneUp have found that a lot of 35mm clamp diameter bars on the market, while being really stiff for great control, are just too stiff for comfort.  The 35mm bore allows for the bar to be both stronger and lighter at the same time, but it does create a very stiff bar with a high rate of deflection.  This translates to sore wrists and arms on longer, rougher descents.
To combat this, OneUp have designed a their bars with a different profile and have ovalised the tubing between the 35mm clamp area, and the 22.2mm area for the grips, shifter, brakes etc.
What this ovalisation does, is allows the bar to flex vertically, but laterally and torsionally allows to bar to stay super stiff for predictable and direct steering response.
Basically, it's the strongest, comfiest set of bars you'll ever find.

Who's this for: Riders charging hard who need a stiff bar where it counts, but comfort where it counts more.

Material:  Super custom geometry tubing made from carbon fibres.

Width:  800mm

Sweep:  8 degrees back, and 5 degrees up.

Rise:  20mm and 35mm available.

Markings:  Centre alignment marks for the stem.  Cut marks to tune length.  Markings down from the grips to help align brakes and levers perfectly.

Clamping diameter:  Only available in 35mm

Weight:  20mm rise - 220g.  35mm rise - 225g

Pros:  Stiff where it needs to be, flexy where it needs to be.

Cons: Only available in 35mm clamp.

Best value carbon bar

Solid upgrade from my factory alloy bar. Initial impressions the bar felt very comfortable and compliant.

Handle Bars are great!!

The bars I havnt tried out yet but they came before expected delivery in a massive box with so much cushion I don't reckon a atomic bomb would damage em. Credit to MTB Direct

Nicely made, but not comfortable in my opinion

by

Really nicely made bar, but I didn't think these are anything magic wrt comfort. I'm currently riding Deity DC31 Mohawk and Joystick Analog bars on two other bikes and reckon these are way more comfortable. Admittedly the Mohawk is 31.8 mm, but it's night and day. I even rotated the Oneup bars back and forth to make sure I was working with the flattened sections, rather than on an angle to them. I weigh 100 kg without gear, so if it's going to flex, I'm going to find it. Why produce 35 mm bars only to "engineer" in compliance that still doesn't work as well?

Ideal Trail Bar

by

The advertising for these bars is spot on. I have always had a few problems with hand numbness when riding, and a recent bike update that came with standard alloy 35mm bars saw this getting worse. Not really the bike, just found the bars too stiff for me. Was considering a switch back to 31.8, but when I added the cost of some decent bars and stem, Carbon 35's were a cost effective option to consider. I thought I'd give the OneUp carbon bar with the 35mm rise first. I'm stoked I did!
Right from the first ride I could feel they were so much more compliant than the OEM bars I had. Trail chatter was reduced, and you could feel a little give on the sharper hits. At the same time though, the steering is still sharp, and there's no dramas for me holding a line on rougher trails. Best for me, the numbness is back under control.
I reckon OneUp has delivered the ideal trail bar, and would suggest giving a set a go if you don't love your current 35's!

Worth the money!!

After having issues with sore hands on rides I decided to try some carbon bars to help try reduce vibration in my hands. From the first ride I noticed a huge improvement in my hands & was amazed how good these bars are! The bars are cut down to 780 & fit my Giant Trance X 29 perfectly !! Highly recommend if you are thinking Carbon bars buy One Up they live up to sale pitch, I know i won't ride another bike without them!
