Description

The Maxxis Minion FBR is a fat bike tyre specifically designed for trail riding. It shares the tread layout and look of the race-proven Minion DHR II, but is optimized for fat biking. The Minion FBR features the well-known side knobs for cornering traction and ramped, paddle-like knobs down the middle, minimising rolling resistance and maximising traction in all conditions.

    Maxxis Minion FBR tyre

    Really strong tyre that still rolls very well. At the end of a ride 3 of us rolled down a hill. My bike with the biggest tyres won the rolling race. Not very scientific, but a practicle demonstration that the tyre is not 'slow'. I changed wheel & tyre sizes from 26x4 to 27.5 x 3.8. The tyre still give good float on firm sand.

    Monster trucking!

    So fitted the 3.8 minions onto 55mm wide, 27.5 rims.what a transformation!Much quicker acceleration, faster rolling speed on rolls over everything! 2 rides at thredbo now, I'm keeping up with mates and passing one of them on his new 11grand carbon high tower 29er, much to his disgust and everyone else's amusement!
