Designed by Swiss XC ace, multiple World Cup winner and former World Champion, Christoph Sauser, the Maxxis Crossmark is a super fast rolling tyre that still retains great cornering abilities on hardpack and medium-hardpack.
The centre tread is almost continuous, which means the Crossmark flies along hardpack and road like no other, yet just off to either side, the ramped knobs reminiscent of the Larsen TT are spaced further apart to offer traction in looser conditions that few tyres this fast can.
Features:
- Very fast rolling centre tread
- Ideal for cross country riders on hardpack or loose over hard surfaces
- Suitable for front or rear use.
- A great training tyre with it's low cost
Compromises:
- Not the grippiest tyre for technical XC tracks.
Weight:
26 x 2.1 is 620g in EXO TR
29 x 2.1 is 700g in EXO TR or 840g in LUST.
Please note - Wire bead tyres are sent rolled up to minimise shipping costs. The wires in the beads shouldn't get bent during this process, however, if they arrive with a bend, just bend them back til they are straight. It won't affect the performance of the tyre at all.
An updated version of the Maxxis Crossmark has been released now too. You can find the Maxxis Crossmark 2 here.

I purchased this tyre as an all rounder for commuting and some singletrack riding with my hardtail 29er. The tyre wears well on bike tracks but also has good grip for hardpacked dirt trails. I wouldn't recommend this tyre on the front for muddy or loose conditions, but as a rear tyre coupled with a more grippy front, I'm quite happy to go out on a training ride with this combination. The sliding is quite predictable so it can be a fun ride, but probably not ideal for racing.

Bought this to replace a Maxxis Crossmark tyre. Very happy with them. I ride the bike to work on roads, footpaths & bicycle lanes as well as weekend trail rides & find the tyre is very good for all terrain. Is smooth running on smooth surfaces as well as having good grip in the dirt.
Have only used these tyres

Have only used these tyres once - 180 km trip over two days down to the South Coast from Canberra through Araluen. Great on the tarmac and equally at home on the dirt - went through thick mud, corrugations, down the Araluen escapement in went and slippery conditions without fault. Would recommend to cross country and trail riders.
Tyre works on gettho tubless.

Tyre works on gettho tubless. Intalled on Shimano Tubeless Rim (MT65) with tyre sealant. Works flawlessly so far after 200km of tarmac ride. I am only using this tyre for commuting and the wear seems to be good! It will definitely outlast other tyres that I have used.
Tried running the Crossmarks front

Tried running the Crossmarks front and rear and wasn't happy with the lack of side knob grip tried many different pressures but ended up putting another tyre on the front still have a cross mark on the the rear but will be trying something different next time.
Highly underrated tyre. Perfect rear
by Rabbit -
Highly underrated tyre. Perfect rear tyre matched with a high roller 2 to suit todays killer trail bikes that everyone calls ENDURO bikes. As a matched pair they are great reliable xc tyre or even with an ikon on the front they are pretty good.
