Description

The Gravity Mount from K-Edge is quite possibly the safest option to mount a Garmin or Wahoo Computer to your bike. Replacing the steerer cap, this positions the device away from the handlebar, giving the device the best possible chance of coming out safe after that unexpected crash. They are easy to install and blend perfectly with the cockpit.

    Does the job

It's a quality product and a solid mounting position for a Garmin to help keep it out of harm's way. It's a little tricky to get the mount straight when tightening the stem as it rotates, so not as easy to adjust as a regular top cap, but there is a hole for the hex wrench so no need to remove the plastic mount. You'll want to check whether there is clearance for your device once it's mounted, as those with short fork steerers might struggle with clearance between bottom of the device and top of stem.

Letting the computer obsessed handle the latest geometry trends

Some would say that I am not a very pragmatic man. I'd only have one mountain bike if I was pragmatic. I'd only have one bike with the newer short stem set up (longer/slacker geometries). Note that I am 6'7 and I have gone from 110-120mm stems now to 50mm with some of the bigger bikes and there is no space for a Garmin. I don't want the Garmin sticking out on a 'stabby' arm either.

This is a very pragmatic piece of kit. It solves the issue of where to mount a Garmin on modern MTBs. So good that I have two on separate new school bikes.

    Great mount

Used it for a few rides now, beats the handle bar mount my Wahoo came with. Also, it keeps it a little safer too as it's not sticking out on the bar where it could get knocked by something.

I would recommend. Make sure you don't over tighten the two small nuts that holds the plastic mount on, they strip vey easily.

    Clean and simple solution

I decided to buy this after I crashed with the stock Garmin 'out the front' style mount. The Garmin mount snapped and left me with a essentially a knife poking out the front of my handle bars. It spooked me enough to look for alternates, and this does the job well.

Installation took me all of 10 minutes, very simple so long as you have the right sized allen keys. For reference, the little screws that attach the plastic holder to the cap are 2mm, and the main head cap screw is 4mm.

I'd read some reviews that said it was annoying to align the cap since you had to screw in the main screw and then attach the plastic holder bit, but they must have revised their design becuase the plastic cap has a hole in the middle now so you can torque it down properly with the plastic cap in place now.

    CNC Machined perfection

This is the 2nd K-Edge mount I own. Beautifully CNC machined. I'm running the red anodised gravity mount on which ties in nicely with the other red anodised parts on he bike. Really cool and functional.
