Description

Taller, meatier, and more aggressive than the Newton, the Newton ST ups the ante when front grip and loose terrain traction is a priority.

From aggressive trail riding to the demands of downhill racing, the Newton ST delivers consistent cornering bite, predictable braking control and premium performance in ever-changing conditions.

The tread design features ramped centre knobs to reduce rolling resistance, while tall, arch-supported side knobs provide ample braking and cornering grip.

Who's this item for: The Newton ST will suit aggressive trail/enduro riders as well as Downhillers

Tubeless ready: Yep!

Which tyre: The aggressive cornering bite of this tyre makes it ideal for the front wheel

Purchased these cause I was looking for a more aggressive tyre to replace a Rekon that I had destroyed the knobs of JRA. The price was a major factor in trying these out. In spite of not saying, the tyre is directional as the centre knobs have a chamfer in one direction but I didn't realise until I had fitted them. Aired up easily on my Stan's Flow rim with a FlashCharger. Using as a rear tyre and it digs in well in the corners. Climbs surprisingly well and rolls along quite nicely on smooth singletrack. Has dealt with BM sandstone well, taking square edged hits well. When I destroy the 2.6 Rekon on the front of the bike, I'll consider one of these as a replacement.
