Description

Five Ten have gone back to the drawing board to improve and refine their original flat pedal shoe that started it all. The Impact Pro is sleeker, lighter, and less bulky than the original, with refinements to the sole that serve to greatly improve stability and grip while also making it easier to make fine adjustments on the fly.

The insole has seen a major re-design and is now 30% shallower than before, allowing for a lower centre of gravity and a decreased likelihood of your feet rolling off the pedal. The sole itself uses the original (and most durable) S1 Stealth rubber, and the classic Dotty pattern has been tweaked to allow for easier fine tuning of the foot position. All sizes now use a dedicated size-specific pattern that places all the lugs precisely where they are needed for predictable grip no matter where your foot ends up on the pedal.

The toe box has been reinforced with a combination of PORON (used in some kneepads), EVA. regular foam, and a rubberized toe-cap, so you'll be able to kick trees, rocks, and flat pedal nay-sayers out of the way as you drift past with your foot out.

The original Impact was often associated with soggy feet due to their infamous water retention abilities. The Pro model moves away from a leather upper to a water-resistant synthetic material which reduces drying times greatly and allows for mank-free riding, day after day.

Features:

  • Reduced bulk, weight, and height
  • Water-resistant, synthetic upper
  • Reinforced toe box - burlier construction
  • Original S1 Stealth rubber compound
  • Improved sole pattern - dedicated  pattern for each size
  • Elastic lace tuck on tongue
  • Reinforced lace eyelets

Please Note: Five Ten are currently without an Australian importer so unfortunately, we are unable to source any new stock for the foreseeable future.

Stiff and Sticky!

by

Pros: super stiff sole and unbelivably sticky as one would expect from 510. Performance is close to 10/10 on these shoes apart from whats mentioned below

Cons: heel is not the most "robust" part tends to fold/ come out of shape unless you loosen off a heap of laces to get your foot in smoothly. Also the laces do break more easily than others in my experience. Kinda wish there was a velcro lace protector because once every now and then they do get caught up in the chain.

This purchase means that my last 3 pairs of MTB shoes are Five Ten flats. Before that it was skate shoes. How did I survive?
Let me discuss just why I love these shoes so much.
They are a natural evolution of the Impact Low, then the Impact Vxi,
They are certainly more breathable, slightly less weight than the Vxi's but here's the important factor. Style points. Look at that fabric and colourway? I mean just take a look! But seriously, yes they look dope, but the best factor is the #grip. Paired with my Saint flats, I've got grip for days.
Credit to Sam Hill for inspiring a generation to stay #FlatPedals4life and credit to Five Ten for smashing it.

Overall these kicks are awesome! Sticks to the pedal like glue and Protection all around (except ankle)
they were a bit heavy for me but after a while, I got used to it, the gainz yeah? Anyway it's true to size guaranteed protection and will live longer than me downhill.

Thanks to mtb directs for another good service!
