Description

ESI's Silicone Tape is a multi-purpose tape for a wide range of uses! It's a special gel tape about 2mm thick with an adhesive, which you can wrap around parts to protect them from being beaten, battered, or broken, such as cable rubbing points, or your chainstay to mute chain noise and protect it from scratches and chipped paint. The tape can also be used for extra cushioning underneath handlebar tape. This isn't recommended for use as a bar tape though unless you like your hands stuck to your handlebars!

    Protowrap

Got this to wrap the frame on my brand new Scott after a weeks worth of riding saw virtually all the paint stripped from the frame near the tyre.

This tape wraps on and clings to itself, adding good protection against damage, wrap chain stays, tubes near tyres etc.

    I love this stuff.

    Chip buster

Installed this on my frame where it was getting hammered by stone chips, brand new Scott 930, and it was really easy to apply and looks to be up to the job. Only issue is the lack of clearance between wheel and tyre, but that is absolutely not the products fault!!

It cured quickly and provides a really substantial barrier to flying debris.

As far as I can tell the only issue would be if you were wanting to protect an area without wrapping the frame, as the product only adheres to itself you cannot use it for patches (below cables to prevent chafe).
