Dollars For Dirt - January 2018

Dollars For Dirt

Each month, we select three groups who are doing excellent things in MTB in Australia. We put $600 on the table, and we ask our customers to vote to decide who gets the funds. Each group gets at least $150, but the group with the highest votes at the end of the month scores $300!

FatTyre Flyers (VIC)

"Fat Tyre Flyers are Victoria's premiere downhill mountain bike club. We've been around for more than 30 years and we actively run build days, ride days and race events for the National Downhill Series and the Victorian Downhill Series. We're run entirely by volunteers and we want to make downhill mountain biking in Victoria the best it can be. This year we've been working hard to make downhill in Victoria even better, by putting some hard work into two classic DH tracks, Narbethong and Granton. For the 2017/18 season we're hosting two awesome rounds of racing at Narby for the Victorian and National Downhill Series'. Find out more about us: http://ftfdh.com.au | facebook.com/fattyreflyers | instagram.com/fattyreflyers The club would use the $300 donation to fund the race events we're hosting for the 2017/18 Victorian Downhill Series and National Downhill Series. If we were successful, the money would be put towards: - first aid - transport - communication (UHF radio hire) - timing - trail maintenance"

Greenvalleys Mountain Bike Club (NSW)

"Greenvalleys MTB Club is about simply providing the best trails in NSW. We'd spend it on our new singletrail experience currently being built"

Dirt Angels (QLD)

"We are a group of female mountain bike enthusiasts. Whether it's a social ride ending in a muffin and coffee, an enduro race or a cross country marathon, we enjoy getting active with friends in a positive and affirming environment. We communicate largely through our facebook group, growing our membership all the time as we find more women take on the mountain bike challenge. We are excited to grow this amazing sport. We are based in Toowoomba but you"ll often find us on trails all over south-east Queensland. And currently we have just over 200 members! We would use the money to fund training for beginners in the group to assist in taking their riding to the next level. Toowoomba has awesome tracks but they can be challenging, so some group sessions would be fantastic!"
