AlpineStars Paragon Pro Elbow Pads
Who's this item for: Enduro, Trail and aggressive XC riders who are looking for a good level of elbow protection that doesn't feel like a full-fledged elbow guard.
Protection Style: The Paragon Pro Elbow Pads use a flexible, perforated, protective guard that is secured in a mesh pocket for cooling. The front panel of material uses an abrasion resistant fabric.
Materials: The front panel of the elbow pad is constructed from an abrasion resistant fabric. The back uses a breathable, stretch mesh but is open in the bend of the elbow to avoid bunching and chaffing. The whole elbow pad is pre-bent, using an ergonomic design for optimized performance with various riding positions. Elasticated cuffs and silicone print used on the inner sleeve to prevent the guard from being displaced while riding (or crashing). They also use flat inward-facing seams for improved comfort and a ‘second skin’ feel and fit.
Closure or Slip-on: Slip-on style with elasticated cuffs and silicone printing to prevent slippage and help keep them securely positioned.
Length of Elbow pad: The Paragon Pro Elbow Pads primarily cover the elbow area. The abrasion resistant sleeve of the elbow pad covers quite high above the elbow and over the forearm.
Protection level: Mid. Although these elbow pads are CE certified to EN 1621_1 : 2012 LEVEL 1, they don't offer the same restraint systems to keep them in place during a crash as some other alternatives that use hook and hoop straps.
Removable protective inserts for washing: No.
Pros: Good level of protection that is comfortable enough to wear on those big, long epic rides. Full size range.
Cons: Since they are only secured with elasticated cuffs and silicone print they may not stay in place as well as elbow pads with hook and loop adjustment straps as well.
